Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, IDATE DigiWorld announces its collaboration with the prestigious African Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF).

IDATE DigiWorld is celebrating its 40th anniversary

Since 1977, IDATE DigiWorld has been deciphering, analysing and keeping pace with digital economy developments and disruptions.

In this sector that has undergone so many changes and revolutions, this exceptional longevity is the fruit of the expertise developed by its consultants, analysts and experts, coupled with invaluable interaction with its members.

IDATE DigiWorld has developed its unique DNA by combining research and consulting assignments on behalf of digital industry stakeholders, and meaningful dialogue in the digital community through the DigiWorld Institute.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our members, customers, partners and staff who have allowed IDATE DigiWorld to become Europe’s leading digital economy think tank.

A very happy anniversary to the entire IDATE DigiWorld community!

A key partnership for meeting new digital challenges in Africa

The African Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) operates under the honorary chairmanship of His Majesty, King Mohammed VI. Created in November 2012, and one of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) flagship projects, UEMF is a regional university whose mission is to promote exchange, intercultural dialogue and academic and cultural partnerships across the Euro-Mediterranean region, along with top-level teaching, training and research.

We have been involved in the African market for a number of years, but this partnership represents an exceptional opportunity for IDATE DigiWorld to place research and multiculturalism at the heart of our development strategy, thanks to the support of the talented students of the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF). We are also deeply gratified that the Occitania-Pyrenees Mediterranean Region is joining us in this initiative which will allow us to promote our region and entrepreneurship on the international stage,” says IDATE DigiWorld CEO, Jacques Moulin.

Today, Africa is in great need of financing for its digital infrastructures and services. In addition to telcos which are naturally investing in their own networks, a number of initiatives, supported by investment banks or the States themselves, are beginning to emerge to accelerate the pace of rollouts, facilitate connectivity and bring services to rural regions. It is these real and pressing issues that are driving IDATE DigiWorld to participate more broadly in the African continent’s development.

The signature of this agreement, on 21 October in Fes, will not only help strengthen ties between France and the African continent, but also fulfil an economic development objective by placing digital technology front and centre.
